Andhra Pradesh: Botsa Slams NDA Government for Vengeance Politics

Visakhapatnam: Former minister and senior YSRC leader Botsa Satyanarayana lashed out at the new NDA government for resorting to vengeance politics in the state.

Addressing a press conference in Vizianagaram on Sunday, Satyanarayana said the culture of attack on party offices, government buildings, and threatening vice chancellors of state universities had never been witnessed in state politics for the last 30 years.

There is no place for such activities in democracy,’’ Satyanarayana said. He further added those who came to power should maintain resilience and patience.
He said he was hurt when he came to know that elected MLAs visited the party office in Vizianagaram and threatened the party workers present there. He said if there were any violations, action should be taken as per law.

He said land for party offices were allotted as per the GOs, as it was done earlier during the rules of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and the previous Telugu Desam. Condemning the attacks on universities, the former minister said vice chancellors were appointed following a due process that had been in vogue for many years. The formation of a search committee, recommendations to the Governor, and finally the Governor announcing the name of the candidate were followed.
