AP CM Chandrababu Naidu to Release White Paper on Amaravati Capital Status, Plans Action
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said the state government would soon release a white paper on the status of the state capital. It would involve citations on the damage done to the structures that were under different stages of construction, he said.
The government will prepare an action plan for Amaravati, with stress on the need for buildings there.
On Thursday, the Chief Minister visited different structures left unattended for five years by the previous government and later addressed the media near the CRDA camp office in Rayapudi.
Naidu said he was yet to study how and where the lands in the capital area were mortgaged. Officers must mend their ways, he said.
Terming Amaravathi and Polavaram projects as centres for creating assets, Naidu regretted that both areas got ruined because of the wrong actions of the YSRC government.
During his field visit, Naidu examined the constructions that were in ruins.
The Chief Minister began his tour with a visit to the Praja Vedika in Undavalli that was razed by the YSRC government in 2019. He proceeded to Uddandarayanipalem where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone for the capital. He offered prayers there and later visited the houses constructed for the MLAs and MLCs, then the houses built for the All India Service officers and High Court judges.
Naidu also inspected the residential houses built for ministers, gazetted and non-gazetted officers, and the apartment complexes being built for the grade-four employees.
From officials, he sought details like the floor area of every house, the facilities available and the designs.
Talking to the media at the CRDA Bhavan, Naidu felt that the farmers who gave their lands for the capital waged a war for 1,631 days even as they faced several cases and challenges.
"The farmers have called off their agitation now. They are confident that their area will be developed following the change of government," he said.
“In Andhra Pradesh, A stands for Amaravati and P stands for Polavaram. Amaravati will remain as the people's capital and the youth can confidently work in their state without migrating to other states in search of employment.”
Maintaining that the victory of the TD-led alliance in the recent polls in AP created history, Naidu said that the people totally rejected (Jagan Mohan Reddy) as they felt that he was not fit to be Chief Minister. “They gave his party only 11 seats.”
The Chief Minister said that by implementing the welfare programmes, “we will develop the state.” The government has the responsibility to bring in radical change in the lifestyle of the people,” he said.
