AP: IMD warns of heavy rainfall in Andhra, Yanam

Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive weather advisory for the upcoming five days, forecasting intense weather patterns across various regions.

According to the latest forecast on Saturday , Yanam, Rayalaseema and the North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) districts are expected to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.

The IMD's forecast highlights the potential for severe weather conditions, including thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h. This weather pattern is expected to persist over the next five days, affecting several districts in south India.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to traverse through multiple locations including Navsari, Jalgon, Amaravati, Chandrapur, Bijapur, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram and Islampur. This progression indicates favourable conditions for further advancement of the southwest monsoon into various parts of the country.
The detailed forecast for the upcoming five days outlines specific weather patterns across the affected regions. On Day 1, heavy rainfall is expected in isolated places within North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) and Yanam, with concurrent thunderstorms and lightning forecasted for NCAP, Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) and Rayalaseema. Gusty winds of 30-40 km/h are also anticipated.
Day 2 through Day 5 are projected to see similar weather patterns, with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning predicted in isolated areas of NCAP, Yanam, SCAP and Rayalaseema, alongside persistent gusty winds of 30-40 km/h.
