As Naidu arrived at the secretariat as CM, he was warmly welcomed by senior officials and leaders of employees. To start with, the CM signed the mega DSC file for filling of 16,347teacher posts.
The category-wise details of posts are: SGT 6,371 posts, PET 132 posts, school assistants 7725 posts, TGT 1781 posts, PGT 286 posts and principals 52 posts. The CM reviewed the status of DSC 2024.
Officials explained to him that, under the Department of School Education, there are 61,755 institutions, including government-managed and private, with a total enrolment of 81,59,400 students.
The DSC notification, which was issued on February 12, 2024, carried 6,100 vacancies. These vacancies attracted registrations from 4,72,487 candidates. The earlier government notified only 6,100 vacancies, which created an uproar among the aspirants.
This gives a scope for notifying 10,247 vacancies. Now a total of 16,347 vacancies are proposed to the finance department by the current government for concurrence; which is 2.5 times more jobs than that announced by the previous government.
Naidu put his second signature on AP Land Titling Act repeal file; the third signature on a file to increase social pensions to Rs 4,000; the fourth on renovation of Anna canteens and the fifth on skill censuses.
Earlier, Naidu said, “The land owned by individuals will be taken over by the government if the Act is implemented. If the alliance is voted to power, my second sign will be on repealing the Act. The photograph of Jagan Mohan Reddy will also be replaced with the official symbol of the state government on the passbook.”
“The act poses a threat over the ownership of the land,” he stated.
Naidu had promised to increase the social security pension to Rs 4,000 per month from Rs 3,000 and pay the increased amount with the pension in July month, meaning a payment of Rs 7,000.
He said pensions for the disabled would be increased to Rs 6,000 per month. They would receive Ra 12,000 in July, with the increased Rs 2,000 amount from the past three months.
The previous government had closed Anna canteens that provided food to the needy at cheap rates. Naidu decided to restart these by spending nearly Rs 35 crore. The government will soon decide on the number of Anna Canteens to be opened in all districts, he said.
The Chief Minister interacted with the beneficiaries of welfare schemes, received memorandums and assured them of resolving their issues. He said that all welfare schemes promised during the elections will be implemented.
