AU will be revitalised, asserts Bheemili MLA Ganta

Visakhapatnam: Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao disclosed that initiatives are being taken under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to revitalise the Andhra University towards making it a premier institution in the country.

In his communication on social media platform X, he underlined that the previous administration had politicised AU, which led to a decline in its academic standing and reputation. In this regard, the Bheemili MLA specifically cited YSRC government appointing Prof. P.V.G.D. Prasada Reddy as vice chancellor of Andhra University. Srinivasa Rao pointed out that this has had an adverse impact on the university's integrity and academic standards.

The MLA stated, "Following his appointment as vice chancellor, Prasada Reddy publicly celebrated birthdays of Jagan Mohan Reddy and Vijayasai Reddy at the university. Those who objected to such events at educational institutions were allegedly subject to legal action and harassment," he added.
