Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced on Friday that the Centre has sanctioned Rs 2,812.98 crore as the second and final tranche of funds for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme in Andhra Pradesh for the 2024-25 financial year.
With this, the total Central allocation for MGNREGA in AP for the current fiscal stands at Rs 5,743.90 crore, sufficient for generating employment for 21.5 crore person-days.
The Deputy CM said that the state government has already credited Rs 2,809.10 crore as daily wages to MGNREGA workers through direct bank transfers. He assured that the remaining pending dues will be disbursed soon.
