Vijayawada: Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena called upon the district officials who had adopted novel practices during counting of votes to submit their reports in three days so that a comprehensive report could be prepared to submit to the Election Commission. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the CEO thanked all those who were involved in the election process ranging from the preparation of electoral rolls, conducting of elections and counting of votes. He said that from the time of announcement of election schedule on March 16 till completion of counting of votes on June 4, officials from district and mandal level and police personnel worked with a commitment and appreciated the police for making all efforts to ensure proper maintenance of law and order except for a few stray cases of violence. He also thanked the public representatives for their support in conducting the elections in a peaceful manner.
