ACB nabs headmaster accepting bribe in Yellandu
Bhadradri-Kothagudem: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) nabbed Bheemanapally Krishna, headmaster of Government Minorities Boys School in Yellandu, on Thursday for accepting a bribe of ₹2,000 from an outsourced employee seeking salary clearance.
Deputy superintendent of police Y. Ramesh of the ACB revealed that Krishna had demanded a bribe of ₹10,000 from Sandhya Rani, a Telugu teacher employed on an outsourcing basis, to facilitate her salary payment. Rani agreed to pay ₹2,000 and subsequently approached the ACB for assistance.
As part of a sting operation by ACB, Rani was prepared to hand over the ₹2,000 to the headmaster. Krishna instructed her to give the money to attender Kichelli Ramakrishna. When Rani transferred the funds to Ramakrishna, ACB officers caught him red-handed. Ramakrishna confessed to accepting the bribe on Krishna’s behalf. Subsequent chemical tests confirmed that both Ramakrishna’s and Krishna’s hands showed no traces of illicit substances.
Both the headmaster and the attender were detained by the ACB and will be presented before a special court handling SPE and ACB cases in Warangal.
