Cops Arrest 3 Snatchers, Recover ₹2.1L
Hyderabad:The Begumpet police on Monday arrested Bandaripally Sairam, Moram Shetty Srihari and Chavan Lokesh, residents of Chilkanagar, Uppal, for snatching a bag containing `2.13 lakh cash at Begumpet. Police recovered `2 lakh from the accused.
Police said that Sairam, who runs a tea stall, informed his friends Lokesh and Srihari, informed them of a person carrying the cash from a commercial outlet. The money was to be deposited in a bank on MG Road, Secunderabad. Following this, the trio snatched the cash.
4 Held for Duping Owners by Taking Cars on Rent
Hyderabad:The Raidurgam police arrested four persons for cheating car owners of their vehicles totally worth `2.5 crore. The accused used to take the cars on rent, and sub-rent it in Karnataka while cutting all contact with the owners.
The suspects were identified as Jupudi Usha, Thudumula Mallesh, Sagar Patil, and Anil Jamane. The police recovered 21 cars from the possession of the accused.
According to the police, Usha and Mahesh would approach the car owners to rent their vehicles, and provide them fake identity documents. The duo handed the vehicles over to Sagar and Anil who supplied the vehicles along with fake papers in Bidar and Bhalki districts in Karnataka.
When the car owners demanded their vehicles back, the accused failed to respond. The car owners eventually filed a complaint with Raidurgam police leading to the investigation.
Ganja Worth ₹17.8L Found in Engine Bay
Hyderabad:The Cyberabad special operation team on Monday recovered ganja worth `17.85 lakh that a gang had hidden in the engine bay of a car. Police stopped the car coming from Odisha and checked it but found it clean, near Gangaram Cheruvu in Chandanagar.
On verifying the antecedents of the car occupants, police found that they were previously involved in drugs smuggling. The police then opened the car bonnet and found 60 kg of ganja in the engine compartment. The arrested peddlers were identified as Chaman, 24, driver from Old Bowenpally, native of Haryana and, Shivampet Umakanth, 22, and Arjun Sai Krishna, 20, delivery executives.
Cops Detain Tutor in Pupil Drowning Case
Hyderabad:The Suryapet police on Monday reportedly detained tutor K. Veera Babu of the social welfare hostel at Shantinagar, in Anantagiri mandal in the district for negligence leading to the death of a student, G. Thirumalesh.
The Ananthagiri police registered a case of suspicious death in connection with the death of the student, who drowned in an agriculture well atShantinagar on Sunday.
The tutor took two students to work at his field on Sunday. One report said that on their way back, Veera Babu entered the well for a bath. Thirumalesh followed him and drowned. Veera Babu reportedly fled the space, and another student informed the hostel management of the mishap.
Another report said that Thirumalesh drowned while crossing a pond.
Earlier, the police registered a suspicious death case and said they would alter it to one of negligence leading to the death of the student. Sources said that the police questioned the tutor in connection with the incident.
