Vijayawada:Macherla Town police have booked a father under the POCSO Act for allegedly raping his five-year-old daughter.
According to information, the accused, a vegetable vendor, married a woman from Veldurthi mandal six years ago and has two daughters. The accused reportedly sexually assaulted his elder daughter two years ago when she was three years old.
Following this, the accused's wife left her husband. She shifted to her parents’ house along with her two daughters.
Two months ago, the woman returned to her husband after community heads intervened. Her husband assured her that he had changed.
However, the accused sexually assaulted his elder daughter over the past 10 days after getting her and his wife intoxicated.
On Tuesday, the accused's wife found her elder daughter crying in pain. She took her to a hospital where doctors performed medical tests and found she had been raped.
Following this, the mother filed a complaint against her husband with Macherla police on Tuesday.
