Hyderabad:A 20-year-old Dalit law student was found dead at a consultancy office in Saleemnagar, Malakpet police said. The victim Islawat Shravani, who used to work part time at a private consultancy. Police suspect she died by suicide in her office late on Sunday night.
Shrvani, who resided in a women's hostel at LB Nagar, on Sunday morning called her brother on the phone and asked him for money, police said.
Following her death, her family members and representatives of tribal communities, protested before the Malakpet police station alleging Sharavya’s death was a murder.
“We have registered a case and are verifying with the consultancy owners, victim’s friends and family members to ascertain the reasons behind her death,” C. Shruti Reddy, SI of Malakpet police station said.
