Kakinada:Palakollu police arrested Area Hospital Junior Assistant Kunche Murali Venkata Tulasi Dhar (26) on Saturday for allegedly withdrawing nearly Rs 62 lakh from the hospital account by forging the superintendent’s signature between 2022 and October 2024.
The arrest followed a complaint by Area Hospital Superintendent O. Ravikumar. Palakollu Circle Inspector K. Rajani Kumar stated that Tulasi Dhar withdrew funds from three accounts, including the YSRC Aarogyasri Patient Care Account, the Community Health Centre Development Society Account, and the PFMS Account. The funds were withdrawn using forged cheques.
The Palakollu police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Meanwhile, West Godavari District Collector Ch. Nagarani warned that no irregularities or misuse of government funds would be tolerated.
