Police seize 5 kg Cannabis in Vizianagaram district

Vizianagaram Rural Police arrested two with 5 kg of cannabis in Dwarapudi village; mobiles and cash seized during the raid

Visakhapatnam: The Vizianagaram Rural Police arrested two individuals and seized 5 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) in the suburbs of Dwarapudi village. Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Circle Inspector B. Lakshmana Rao and Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar conducted a raid near Dwarapudi village. The primary suspect, identified as Jagannadham, a resident near Vasanta Vihar railway station with connections to Odisha, was found in possession of the contraband.

Investigation revealed that Jagannadham had distributed portions of the cannabis to two local residents, Boni Akhil and Marthi Venkata Aditya. The police recovered the illegal substance in the presence of Deputy Tehsildar B. Sanjeeva Kumar. Along with the drugs, the police officials also seized two mobile phones and cash amounting to Rs. 2,050. The suspects were subsequently arrested and presented before the court for remand proceedings.
