Hyderabad:During an anti-drug awareness seminar in Bandlaguda on Tuesday, the TGANB director Sandeep Shandilya urged the people to work towards a drug-free society from a young age. He said consumption of drugs drastically helps improve society.
Shandilya participated as the chief guest in the awareness seminar organised for students at the Zilla Parishad High School in Bandlaguda Ghouse Nagar on the ill effects of drug use.
Man kills wife for suspicion of affair
Hyderabad:A 28-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband over suspicion of infidelity at her house in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Kukatpally at 12.30 pm on Tuesday.
According to inspector Rajesh, the deceased was identified as Nasreen Begum, 28. The accused Abdul Raheem, 36, works as a ward boy at a private hospital.
"The accused suspected his wife had an extra-marital affair. This could have led to her death," police said.
Nasreen was also a victim of domestic violence.
Nasreen’s mother, who had dropped in at their residence, spotted Nasreen dead and dialled 100. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination.
A case was registered under sections 103(1) (murder) and 85 (cruelty against women) of the BNS. Furthermore, Raheem was arrested by the police and further investigation into the incident is underway.
The couple had two children, both of whom are now under their grandparents’ supervision.
Two Held for Selling Banned Cigarettes
Hyderabad: The southwest zone task force and Habeebnagar police raided a warehouse and apprehended Mohd Imran and Md Ayub for selling banned foreign cigarettes in Afzalsagar. They seized `20.5 lakh worth foreign cigarettes. They procured the cigarettes from one Ramesh of Gujarat.
2 held for making spurious paste
Hyderabad: Balapur police and the Maheshwaram special operations team apprehended Mohammad Sameer and Ameeruddin for allegedly manufacturing adulterated ginger and garlic paste. Police seized 40 kg of ginger, 50 kg of garlic paste, 14 kg of salt and a grinding machine.
Worker dies after falling from bldg
Hyderabad: Nupendra Nipane, a 45-year-old construction worker from MP, died after falling from the third floor of an under-construction building, Balanagar inspector T. Narsimha Reddy on Monday evening. Police said he had slipped while at work, and died on the spot.
School bus rams into private bus
Hyderabad: A bus of Chirec International School collided with a private travels bus on the Gachibowli Trampoline Park Road on Tuesday morning. No casualties were reported. Police said they did not receive a complaint but a video of the accident did its rounds on social media.
60 arrested during rooster fight
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad special operations team and Moinabad police raided Tollkatta village and arrested 60 persons during a rooster fight. Moinabad inspector G. Pavan Kumar Reddy said the arrested included organisers, bettors and spectators. Police seized `20 lakh cash and 84 roosters.
