Warangal Man Kills Customer For Paying One Rupee Extra For Biryani
Hyderabad: A taunt over paying an extra Rs 1 for purchasing biryani at a food joint in Gandhinagar in Warangal led to the murder of an autorickshaw driver, Premsagar, on Friday night.
AJ Mills Colony inspector P. Mallaiah told Deccan Chronicle that the Premsagar came to the food joint to purchase a mini-packet of biryani. Premsagar paid Rs 60 over a mobile payment app, against the price of Rs 59. Arvind, another customer, allegedly taunted him for paying Rs 1 extra. This triggered an argument which soon led to fisticuffs.
In the melee, Arvind allegedly pushed Premsagar who fell on a boulder and suffered head injuries. Customers at the food joint rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Arvind fled the spot.
Based on a complaint received from Premsagar’s family, the police registered a murder case under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the body was handed over to his family after an autopsy at MGM hospital mortuary. A hunt is on to nab Arvind.
Police said they were examining the CCTV footage installed near the food joint. “We are collecting more details from the food joint owner and other customers who were present at the time of the incident to identify Arvind,” the police said.
