Karnataka: Activist Alleges Bribe Offer Linked to CM Case
Bengaluru: A social activist and petitioner against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Snehamayi Krishna on Wednesday complained to the Superintendent of Police Lokayukta Mysuru alleging that he was offered huge money through his son Vivek by persons claiming to be close to B.M. Parvathi, wife of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, to retreat from his complaint against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family members over plot distribution irregularities by Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in Mysuru city.
It may be recalled here that Snehamayi Krishna is one among three petitioners to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to petition over allotment of 14 sites by MUDA officials to CM’s wife in lieu of her losing 3.16 acres at Kesare in Mysuru to MUDA. Currently, the plot allotments is being investigated by Mysuru Lokayukta while officials concerned of Enforcement Directorate (ED), Bengaluru have also taken up the case by filing an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR). Snehamayi Krishna moved the High Court demanding investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
In his complaint, Krishna demanded an investigation into the matter wherein two persons-Srinidhi and Harsha met his son Vivek at his residence in Byraveshwara Nagar on Nanjangud road in Mysuru city on December 15 at around 10.30 am and during the course of conversation, the two persons, alleged to have offered money to exert influence on him to retreat from his complaint.
The activist stated the offer from Srinidhi and Harsha was turned down by his son and told them clearly that his father would not entertain such things. Later, the two persons, Krishna alleged, asked his son to arrange for talks with his wife for a few minutes which was denied by his son. Krishna stated he was not at his house when Srinidhi and Harsha approached his son with the offer.
Taking a serious view of the matter, Krishna demanded an investigation into the offer allegedly made by Srinidhi and Harsha and asked Lokayukta to verify the authenticity of claims made by Harsha that he is close to Parvathi, wife of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Besides, Krishna sought to know “Who were the persons behind sending Harsha to his residence when he was not at home?.”
