DC Impact | Visakhapatnam Launches Birth Certificate Drive

Visakhapatnam issues birth certificates to 35 tribal children, aiding their education registration through APAAR

Visakhapatnam: In response to the article titled "Kondu Tribes Protest for Their Kids' Birth Certificates," published in the Deccan Chronicle on December 2 , Anakapalle district collector Vijayakrishnan has launched a special programme to facilitate the issuance of birth certificates.

This initiative, conducted on Thursday at the Cheemalapadu panchayat in Ravikamatam mandal, follows the collector's directives to the mandal education officer. The programme aims to issue birth certificates for 35 children from the villages of Neredu Bandha, Jeelugulova, Kalyan Lava, Rayapadu, and Ajjeyapuram. By securing these certificates, the initiative will enable the children to register in the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) and obtain their unique national one-time student identification numbers.

This proactive measure effectively addresses the concerns raised by the Kondu tribal community, ensuring greater access to educational opportunities.
