Kakinada: Eluru superintendent of police Dasari Mary Prashanthi convened a meeting with the district’s political leaders and cadres on Thursday.
She thanked them for cooperating with police in ensuring smooth polling. The SP wanted similar cooperation from them to ensure that counting of votes on June 4 passes off peacefully.
Mary Prashanthi pointed out that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will be in force till June 6. Section 144 and section 30 will be in force till then. People should not come onto streets and roads or create law and order problems, she advised.
Additional superintendent of police G. Swaroopa Rani, special enforcement bureau inspector Malleswara Rao and Eluru DSP E. Srinivasulu were among those present.
