Father, Son Drown in Krishna River at Srisailam
A man and his son drowned in the Krishna River during the Maha Shivaratri ritual dip near Srisailam; police have launched an investigation

According to police, a group of 40 pilgrims had travelled to Srisailam in an excursion bus for darshan of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy. The group later went to Pathalaganga, near the Lingalagattu bridge on the Telangana side, to take a ritual bath. During the dip, Vasu was suddenly swept away by strong river currents. In a desperate attempt to save him, Guruvaiah jumped into the water, but both drowned.
Kurnool: A man and his son drowned in the Krishna River while taking a holy dip during the Maha Shivaratri festival near Lingalagattu of Srisailam temple on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Guruvaiah, 35, and his son Vasu, 11, residents of Kollikulla village in Penuganchiprolu mandal, NTR district.

Sunnipenta circle inspector Chandrababu said a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
