Indian Art Festival Begins in Hyderabad with 3,500 Artworks
Hyderabad's Indian Art Festival opens, featuring 30 galleries and 250 artists, with live music and film screenings, until Sunday at Kings Kohinoor Convention
Hyderabad: A three-day Indian Art Festival featuring 30 galleries, 250 artists, and 3,500 artworks by Telangana sculptors and artists and the Bombay Art Society began here on Friday. Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao inaugurated the festival at Kings Kohinoor Convention, Gudimalkapur Road.
“Art must be affordable to all. Every house must have a piece of art,” said the minister in his inaugural address. He purchased a woven art portrait of Mahatma Gandhi by artist Naresh Bollu.
The festival is open for visitors until 8 pm on Sunday. A fusion show with live music runs daily from 3.30 pm to 5 pm, followed by a screening of the film ‘The Eternal Canvas,’ detailing the 12,000-year journey of Indian art, from 6 pm to 7.15 pm.
Prominent attendees included Parvathi Reddy, art collector and director of NAR Infra Pvt. Ltd., eminent artist K. Laxma Goud, art connoisseur and author Anju Poddar, and Rajendra Patil, founder and director of the India Art Festival.
