Minister Plans Boost for Buddha Vanam Tourism in Telangana

Tourism Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao urges officials to enhance Buddha Vanam in Nagarjuna Sagar, aiming to attract more tourists and boost local economy

Hyderabad: The Tourism Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao on Saturday directed the officials to come up with a plan to develop Buddha Vanam in Nagarjuna Sagar to attract more tourists to the place.

The Minister on Saturday visited Buddha Vanam and Nagarjuna Sagar and discussed with the officials for taking up measures for development of the place.

Speaking to media persons, Jupalli Krishna Rao said that as part of tourism promotion, they visited the Buddha temple in Nagarjuna Sagar. The famous Buddha Kshetra at Nagarjunasagar has been constructed to unveil the complete life history of the Buddha in one place. The government would further develop this area where Acharya Nagarjuna walked as an international Buddhist site

"We will work hard to keep Buddhavanam in Telangana at the top position in the Buddhist tourism circuit. There is a need to promote the Buddhist heritage and culture to the youth, India and the world. Development of Nagarjuna Sagar as a tourist center will increase income as well as employment opportunities," the Minister said.

The minister inquired about the facilities provided to domestic and international tourists in Buddhavanam. It is suggested that better facilities should be provided to the tourists so that they do not face any difficulties. Krishna Rao reviewed the progress of Buddhavanam development work and creation of better facilities in Vijay Vihar with the officials of Buddhavanam and Tourism Department.
