Hyderabad: BJP Maljakgiri MP-elect Etala Rajendar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking office for a third term was a rare event in Indian politics.
In a statement, Rajendar pointed out that it was for the first time after 1962 that a Prime Minister had taken oath for the third term in office. “The good work carried out by the Narendra Modi government in the last two terms won the hearts of people, and they elected the BJP for the third time,” he said.
Thanking people of the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, the largest in the country, for electing him, Rajendar said he felt happy to serve as a Lok Sabha member under Modi’s leadership. He said the BJP government at the Centre will focus on poverty alleviation programmes.
