Newly-weds to get separate ration cards: Uttam

Karimnagar: The Congress government will bring transformative changes to the state, ensuring all eligible individuals benefit from its welfare schemes, said irrigation and municipal administration minister Uttam Kumar Reddy during a Grama Sabha in Renikunta village of Karimnagar district on Wednesday.
Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that newly-weds would get separate ration cards, and applications for changes or additions to family members would be processed promptly. Applications submitted via Mee Seva, Prajavani, or Grama Sabhas will be reviewed to ensure ration cards reach all eligible persons. He noted the Congress government plans to issue 40 lakh new ration cards and provide 6 kg of fine rice per person after distribution.
On housing, the government will relaunch the Indiramma Housing Scheme, offering Rs 5 lakh financial aid for those with land, with an additional Rs 1 lakh for SCs and STs. For agriculture, the Rythu Bharosa scheme will provide Rs 12,000 annually per acre to eligible farmers, regardless of cultivation status. Landless labourer families will get Rs 12,000 annually under the Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa scheme.
This initiative aims to provide extensive welfare benefits to the poor, farmers, and marginalised communities. Several officials, including district collector Pamela Satpathy, attended the event.
