No room for corruption in welfare schemes: Ponguleti
Khammam: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Sunday assured that there was no room for extortion and corruption in the implementation of welfare schemes and all beneficiaries would get the benefits announced by the Congress government.
Speaking at a meeting in Tirumalayapalem as part of his mass outreach programme ‘Prajala Vaddaku Srinanna’, Srinivas Reddy said the state government was working with a mission to ensure that all beneficiaries received the welfare schemes benefits. “People should not approach middlemen and brokers to enroll as beneficiaries. As per the fixed criteria, families would be selected for the welfare schemes by the government authorities,” he said.
Stating that Indiramma Rajyam was installed by the people through their votes in the Assembly elections, the minister said allocating Indiramma houses to eligible families in Palair Assembly constituency in the next three years was his responsibility.
When people brought to his notice irregularities in the implementation of welfare schemes in the earlier BRS government, Srinivas Reddy said that welfare pensions would be stopped for those who were getting them due to political recommendations and were found ineligible on inquiry.
He asked revenue officials to conduct grama sabha meetings to resolve issues and disputes related to land. If that was not done, they would be solved when brought to his notice, he added.
