Pakistan issues 3,000 visas for Indian Sikhs to attend Guru Nanak birthday celebrations
New Delhi: The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued over 3,000 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India, enabling them to participate in the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary. The event is scheduled to be held in Pakistan from November 14 to November 23 and will include visits to key religious sites.
Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmad Warraich extended his warm greetings to the pilgrims, expressing his “heartfelt felicitations” on this auspicious occasion and wishing them a meaningful and fulfilling yatra. He emphasized that the issuance of these visas reflects Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating religious visits and promoting interfaith harmony in the region.

Sikh pilgrims will have the opportunity to visit prominent shrines associated with Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, including Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal, and other revered sites. Each year, thousands of Sikhs from India visit Pakistan under the framework of the bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, signed in 1974.
