Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar Joins Union Cabinet Amid Celebrations

Adilabad: A huge celebration broke out at the house of Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar upon his elevation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Union Cabinet. Sanjay’s wife Aparna, an employee with the SBI, joined in the celebrations, briefly dancing with friends and relatives.

Sanjay follows in the footsteps of veteran BJP leader and former Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao who was also elected from Karimnagar and was part of the Atal Behari Vajpayee government.

Party cadre and family members and friends celebrated Sanjay’s new job and danced to the beat of traditional drums, bursting crackers and distributing sweets at Sanjay’s house in the Karimnagar town on Sunday.

Sanjay’s wife Aparna thanked the party cadre and leaders for their support to his growth and political career. She expressed her happiness over Sanjay’s election as Union minister.

She thanked Prime Minister Modi and the party's top leadership of the state and at the Centre for inducting Sanjay into the Cabinet. She said Sanjay became a minister at the Centre with the support of party workers and Prime Minister Modi. She also thanked the people of Karimnagar for extending their support all these years.

Aparna said becoming a Union minister was a big honour for a person like Sanjay who came from a middle-class family background.

In Hyderabad, BJYM leaders led by their president Mahender set up a grand celebration at the party office to mark Prime Minister Modi taking over the reins for a record-equalling third time. A number of activists from different corners descended on the party office for the celebrations.

The BJP headquarters staff led by office secretary Uma Shankar shared sweets with party workers and danced along with party workers as the state for the first time got two berths in the Union Cabinet. Big cutouts of Modi, Sanjay and Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy were put up at the party office.
