Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh police arrested actor and politician Posani Krishna Murali in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, on Tuesday following a complaint over his remarks on AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.
It can be recalled while the YSR Congress (YSRC) was in power, Posani served as the chairman of the AP Film Development Corporation. During that period, he made several controversial comments against Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. Multiple cases were registered against Posani across various police stations in Andhra Pradesh.
One of these cases was filed at Sambepalli police station in Annamayya district. Acting on this case, AP police officials arrived at Posani’s residence in Gachibowli and took him into custody.
A senior police official confirmed the arrest, stating, “Whenever a person is arrested from another state, the local police must be informed. We were informed accordingly. Posani Krishna Murali was arrested and has been taken to Andhra Pradesh for further legal proceedings.”
