Vijayawada: Senior minister, Nara Lokesh, has assured the people of Mangalagiri, his constituency, on Sunday that solving their problems would be one of his priorities.
Lokesh, holding the portfolios of IT, Electronics and Education, was participating in the Praja Darbar for the second consecutive day on Sunday to learn about the problems that the people of his home constituency faced. People gathered in large numbers and narrated their problems to the minister.
Representatives of the Andhra Pradesh Veugu Teachers Association pleaded that the services of the 2,193 employees on contract basis be regularised. A student, Jagadeesh, urged the minister release the fee reimbursement dues to the Nuzvid College so that he would get back his polytechnic certificate from the college.
The non-teaching staff of Acharya Nagarjuna University wanted their retirement age to be raised to 62 years while Sheik Nazina of Mangalagiri wanted financial assistance to her five-month-old nephew suffering from a serious ailment. K Kiran Babu of Tadepalli wanted employment for him and his sister, Mounika, who had completed their MBA.
A physically challenged B Srinivasa Rao of Tadepalli informed the minister that though he was 40, he got no employment till now and wanted a means of livelihood. Yerramsetti Sriramulu and Bothala Maruthi Prasad of Radha Ranga Nagar of Vaddeswaram sought shelter for them as they did not own a house.
Kolanukonda Rajeswari, an Anganwadi helper from Vundavalli, informed Lokesh that the previous government did not give her promotion. She hoped Lokesh would do the needful.
Lokesh promised them that he would take necessary steps to solve their problems.
