Revanth to attend Prajavani, to meet people directly, receive petitions

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is all set to attend the Prajavani programme and receive petitions from people directly from July 16.

Senior Congress leader and vice-chairman of the TG Planning Board, G. Chinna Reddy, who was appointed as in-charge for Prajavani met Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat on Monday and briefed him about the status of petitions received from people.

The Chief Minister instructed Chinna Reddy to ensure the speedy resolution of grievances submitted by people and also ensure speedy disposal of pending petitions.

Prajavani is being conducted twice a week on Tuesday and Friday at present. Revanth Reddy attended the programme when Prajavani was launched on the second day after the Congress formed the government in Telangana on December 8 last.

Revanth Reddy attended the first Prajavani programme on December 8 and received petitions from people directly. But due to his busy schedule as the Chief Minister and TPCC chief and the subsequent Lok Sabha election code from March to June, he could not attend the programme.

As the Lok Sabha polls are over now, Revanth Reddy wants to resume Prajavani and meet people directly.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle after the meeting, Chinna Reddy said that Revanth Reddy has expressed his desire to attend Prajavani as frequently as possible, meet people and accept petitions from them directly.

"Revanth Reddy has conveyed his decision to attend Prajavani from this month regularly. He is likely to attend Prajavani from July 16," Chinna Reddy said.

The erstwhile Pragathi Bhavan, which served as the Chief Minister's official residence-cum-camp office in Begumpet when K. Chandrashekar Rao was the Chief Minister, was renamed "Praja Bhavan", hours after Revanth Reddy took oath as the Chief Minister on December 7, 2023.

After removing barbed fences and iron grills and demolishing the high-rise walls of Pragathi Bhavan, Revanth Reddy had decided to hold Prajavani by giving entry to all people to lodge grievances and seek redressal.
