Hyderabad: A sanitation field assistant (SFA) of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) under the Gajularamaram circle has been suspended after he was accused of sexually harassing a female worker for the past few days.
Shocking videos have surfaced where the accused, Kishan, was seen assaulting the victim and making a video of the act. According to reports, the accused employee has been suspended after the disturbing videos of sexual assault went viral.
A complaint was filed against him a week ago, prompting the officials to suspend and investigate into the matter.
Workers of the department demanded for a permanent suspension of the accused as this incident was not an isolated one. Similar incidents have previously occurred. However, after the video went viral, the victim does not want to come in front of the media. “We have families and kids and incidents like these will shatter our lives. He harasses all women employees," said the victim requesting anonymity
Responding to the incident, additional medical officer of health Chandrasekhar said, “An inquiry is underway. Such misconduct and sexual harassment of women will not be tolerated. We are going to take appropriate actions against him."
“Kishan took the videos himself as evidence to threaten the victims and repeatedly calls for sexual favours. When a woman enters the office, he keeps his phone ready to record the conversations. All the incidents of sexual abuse took place in the office,” according to sources.
Commissioner Ronald Rose has warned officials and staff of stringent action against the those found harassing women at the workplace, said the GHMC in a press release.
