Satyayug Gold Scam: Cheating Case Against Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra

A case has been registered against Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra. Sachin Joshi, a NRI, filed a complaint stating that Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra cheated him with a bogus gold scheme. He also went to court seeking action against the couple.

In 2014 Satyug Gold company announced a new gold scheme. According to the scheme, members could invest as low as Rs.1,000 every month in the Mera Gold Plan. At that time, they disclosed that the company would deposit gold in their account for the amount paid by the customers every month, depending on the prevailing gold rate and many people joined this Mera Gold Plan.
In 2014, Sachin Joshi, an NRI, joined Shilpa Shetty's Satyayug Gold Pvt Ltd gold scheme, Sachin Joshi said that he bought a Kilo of gold for Rs.18.58 lakh in five years. Sachin went to the company's office in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex to redeem it in 2019 after the deadline. Seeing the closed board there, he broke down.
On Inquiring about the company, he learned that Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra had resigned as directors of the company in 2017. Knowing that he was cheated by this, he waged a legal battle with the company directors (Shilpa and Raj).
Mumbai Additional Sessions Judge N.P Mehta ordered the police to register a case against Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra. The judge ruled that there was evidence of fraud by Satyug Gold Private Limited, which was founded by Shilpa Setty and Raj Kundra. The judge confirmed that two directors and an employee of the company were involved in the fraud. Now a fraud case has been registered against Shilpa Shetty and her husband.
