Shivakumar Alleges Rival 'Yaga' Targeting Karnataka Government

Deputy CM Shivakumar claims rivals are performing a 'Shatru Bhairavi yaga' in Kerala against him and Karnataka's CM, aiming to eliminate political opposition

Bengaluru: “An experiment has been going on against me, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the State government and that he has got information from his sources about the ongoing ‘Shatru Bhairavi yaga’ (a religious ceremony) aimed at eradication of rivals which has been going on in the vicinity of Rajarajeshwari Temple in Kerala,” alleged Deputy Chief Minister and president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) D.K. Shivakumar.

“I have details on who is performing the yaga,” he said but preferred not to disclose the names who have conducted the yaga and said “I’m aware of those performing the yaga.”

"I have been getting details of the yaga underway in Kerala and that he has received information from participants in the yaga," Shivakumar said exuded confidence that the forces he believes will safeguard him from such yaga.

After a reporter drew the attention to the sacred thread tied around his right wrist, Shivakumar alleged that the yaga has been going in Kerala in which 5 boars, 21 sheep and 3 buffaloes would be sacrificed for the success of the yaga and pulled out a list of items used to perform the yaga against him, CM and the State Government. The yaga, he said, is performed under the aegis of agohris.

Shivakumar said he political rivals believe that they would achieve success by performing such yagas and those performing the yaga are experts in doing such yaga for success and elimination of political rivals.

“We have the blessings of God, people and the forces to guard him from evil forces,” said the Deputy Chief Minister.
