Siddaramaiah Thanks Sandur for Rejecting BJP
CM Siddaramaiah lauds Sandur voters for backing Congress, dismissing BJP's propaganda, and endorsing development in by-elections

Sandur: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah lauded the people of Sandur for rejecting the BJP’s misinformation campaigns, and for choosing development by ensuring the Congress victory in the recent by-elections.
Addressing a large gathering in Sandur to thank voters, Siddaramaiah took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of failing to back up his claims.
“From local BJP leaders to their national leaders, everyone spread lies on the Waqf issue. During the Maharashtra elections, Modi ji accused us of Rs 700 crore corruption. I challenged him to prove the allegations and said I would retire from politics if he succeeded, but he lacked the courage to do so. He is bold only when it comes to making baseless statements,” Siddaramaiah remarked sarcastically.
Siddaramaiah thanked the voters for ensuring the victory of Congress candidates in the by-elections in three constituencies and standing by him despite the BJP’s alleged false cases and conspiracies.
“By winning the three by-elections, the people of the state have given a huge blessing to our government. The people have given a fitting reply to the BJP, which had plotted against me with false cases and accusations. As long as I have your blessings, there is no question of me, Siddaramaiah, being afraid of any conspiracy or false case,” he declared.
Siddaramaiah also targeted the BJP for involving mining baron G Janardhana Reddy in the Sandur by-election campaign.
“The BJP gave election responsibility to Reddy, who had instilled fear in the people of Ballari during the ‘Republic of Ballari’ days. But the people of Sandur rejected his money, threats, and false propaganda, and chose development and truth by electing Annapoornamma (Congress candidate),” he said.
He further alleged that the BJP has never come to power in Karnataka on its own strength.
“They have always relied on Operation Kamala. The money used for this operation was black money,” he claimed.
The Chief Minister reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.
“Unlike the BJP, our government has delivered on what we promised. We have introduced programs to boost people’s financial strength and purchasing power. Step by step, we are implementing every promise made to the people,” he added.
Taking a dig at Modi’s assurances from 2014 and 2018, Siddaramaiah reminded the audience of the unkept promises.
“Modi ji promised ‘achhe din,’ 2 crore jobs annually, recovery of black money, and depositing Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s account. None of this happened. Instead, all we got were empty speeches,” he said.
Siddaramaiah praised former MLA Congress E Tukaram, whose wife Annapurnamma emerged victorious in the Sandur by-election.
“I campaigned here for three days and observed the developmental work done by Tukaram during his term as MLA. I know how Sandur was before and how it has improved now under his leadership,” he said.
Referring to the recent maternal deaths in Ballari, the Chief Minister announced that the government has increased the compensation amount to five lakhs.
Meanwhile, Housing Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan announced that Sandur would receive 2,000 additional houses under the housing scheme. “Given the high poverty levels in Sandur and its inclusion in the Nanjundappa report as a backward taluk, the housing department will provide 2,000 more homes, in addition to the 2,172 already sanctioned,” he said.
