Stringent measures in place for counting in Kurnool, Nandyal

Kurnool: Police officials in Kurnool and Nandyal districts are implementing stringent measures to prevent disturbances and counting-related crimes. Kurnool SP G. Krishnakanth announced that heavy security arrangements have been made for the vote counting at Rayalaseema University in Kurnool town on June 4. Special vigilance is being maintained on troublemakers and rowdy sheeters.

A comprehensive security force has been deployed, including 2 additional SPs, 10 DSPs, 51 CIs, 3 RIs, 73 SIs, 9 RSIs, 1,060 civil police, 200 AR police, 300 home guards, district police, other district police, central police, 20 SPF personnel, 24 SAR personnel, 1 company from Kerala CAPF, and 1 company from BSF. A total of 188 problematic villages have been identified, with 188 police pickets set up across the district.

Continuous vigilance at the counting center is ensured by 91 special striking forces and police route mobiles. Additionally, 57 QRTs are patrolling all sensitive areas, led by CIs and SIs. There are 67 route mobile teams, 2 control rooms, 14 body-on cameras, and 9 video cameras monitoring key leaders' movements and any potential troublemakers. A total of 31 check posts have been established in the district, with 8 located in the suburbs of Kurnool. Authorities have booked bind over cases against 7,094 individuals suspected of potentially causing issues. Section 144 orders will be strictly enforced across the district until the counting is complete, with strict action taken against any violations.

In Nandyal district, SP K. Raghuveer Reddy outlined the deployment of one SP, one additional SP, 4 DSPs, 23 CIs, 35 SIs, 68 ASI/HCs, 133 PCs, and 101 HGs at the election counting centers. Additionally, a Special Party, BSF forces, AR personnel, and APSP personnel will also be present. Police pickets have been established in 75 problematic areas of the district. The entire area of RGM, Shantiram Engineering, and Pharmacy College in Nandyal, where counting takes place, will be designated as a red zone until the counting is completed. Section 144 and Section 30 of the Police Act will be enforced at the election counting centers.
