BJP's Bandi Sanjay Kumar emphasises teachers' societal impact and criticises past governments' failures at Karimnagar Teachers’ Day event
Karimnagar: History says that governments which have ignored teachers have not survived, said BJP general secretary and Union Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Teachers can influence society and change it for the better, he said.
Participating in the Teachers’ Day celebration organised by the Telangana Prantha Upadhyaya Sangam (TPUS) at the collectorate here on Sunday, he said it was evident that teachers and employees had dethroned the N.T. Rama Rao government and also the N. Chandrababu Naidu’s government in 2004.

Some selfish teacher union leaders supported the previous BRS governments because of which the teachers faced a lot of problems, Sanjay said. The previous BRS government played with the lives of teachers in the name of GO 317, he said.
The Congress government was also disappointing the teachers, there was no pay revision commission or dearness allowance payments and pensions after retirement.
In Karimnagar district alone, payment of `15 crore for PRC and DA arrears were pending, he said and offered the BJP's support to teachers in their fight for basic facilities and resolving issues regarding government schools.
