Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurates the state-of-the-art 300-bed Medicover Hospital in Warangal, bolstering healthcare infrastructure and aiming to promote medical tourism

Warangal: In a significant boost to the healthcare infrastructure of Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the 300-bed super specialty Medicover Hospital in Warangal on Saturday. The new facility aligns with the state government's commitment to enhancing the medical and health sector.

During the inauguration, Chief Minister Reddy expressed his enthusiasm for the new hospital, stating, “I am delighted to open this hospital, which is in line with our government’s vision to strengthen the medical and health sector. Our goal is to develop a global city by providing top-notch education, medical care, and power supply.”

Reddy highlighted the government's ambition to promote Telangana as a medical tourism hub. Plans are underway to establish a medical tourism hub on 1,000 acres in Shamshabad, which will offer comprehensive medical services. Additionally, the government has decided to set up Pharma Villages to bolster the pharmaceutical industry in the state.

The Chief Minister also announced plans to issue a 'digital health profile card' to every citizen, ensuring free medical care across the state. “We are seeking technical assistance from the medical community to advance this initiative. Our objective is for people to leave hospitals with a smile, focusing on positive outcomes rather than the number of admissions,” he said.

Highlighting Hyderabad's development into a cosmopolitan city and its prominence in the pharmaceutical sector, Reddy credited former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi for their visionary initiatives that have contributed to the growth of the IT and pharma sectors in Telangana.

Reddy emphasized the social responsibility of providing healthcare and urged the medical fraternity to prioritize service over financial gains. He also announced that Warangal would soon have an airport and further developments in health and eco-tourism.

Dr. G. Anil Krishna, Chairman & Managing Director of Medicover Hospitals India, expressed pride in inaugurating the state-of-the-art hospital in Warangal. “This hospital, equipped with advanced medical technologies and staffed by over 40 highly qualified doctors, will cater to a wide range of specialties, bringing top-tier healthcare closer to the community and reducing the need for patients to travel to larger cities,” he said.

The Medicover Multi Super Specialty Hospital in Warangal features seven operation theaters, extensive ICU facilities, and a world-class cath lab. Dr. A. Sarath Reddy and P. Harikrishna, Executive Directors of Medicover Hospitals India, reiterated the hospital's commitment to excellence, offering over 20 super specialty treatments.

“This expansion reflects our dedication to patient-centered care and innovation in healthcare delivery,” remarked Dr. Sarath Reddy. “We aim to expand our footprint across India, extending our expertise beyond Telangana and Andhra Pradesh into Maharashtra and Karnataka in the near future.”

With the inauguration of this hospital, the Telangana government continues to make significant strides in improving healthcare infrastructure and services, aiming to position the state as a leader in medical tourism and healthcare excellence.
