Telangana government to announce new power policy soon: Deputy CM
Hyderabad: Telangana will shortly announce a new energy policy focusing on largescale use of clean energy. The state also has plans to set up a skill university near Hyderabad and multiple industrial clusters along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR), three ministers said on Friday.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka noted that about 35 per cent of pharma exports were from Telangana, and added that the state will continue to adopt industry-friendly measures. The pharma industry is the backbone of healthcare and the pharma sector plays a vital role in promoting patient safety and health, Bhatti said.
Stressing on making health accessible to all, he said the government will not let any industry face any problem. He assured industry representatives that there was no shortage of power and water.

IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu said the government was keen on creating about 10 pharma clusters to geographically decentralise the industry’s growth. This was among the policies and initiatives announced by the Congress government within a few months of coming to power.
“We aim to provide world-class infrastructure, regulatory support and a conducive ecosystem for the growth of the pharma industry. We want to encourage production and foster innovation at the grassroots,” Sridhar Babu said
The government was committed to the growth of all industry verticals. It would continue the good policies of the previous governments and enhance industrial growth with new policies, Sridhar Babu said. The government planned to offer skill training to about 50,000 graduates over the next five years, ensuring a steady pipeline of industry-ready candidates.
Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the government had in principle decided to establish Rajiv Gandhi Skill University in consultation with the National Academy of Construction in Madhapur. The RRR will give an impetus to the economy. The government is building new hospitals in Warangal and Hyderabad, he said.
