Telangana Govt Whip Assures Water To Farmers, Inspects Projects

Goverment Whip Adluri Laxman Kumar assures farmers of irrigation water supply, inspecting Kaleshwaram & Kakatiya projects

Karimnagar: The government chief whip and Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar assured farmers on Thursday that their irrigation water supply concerns will be addressed in the near future. Accompanied by irrigation department officials, Laxman Kumar inspected the works at Kaleshwaram Link-2 and Kakatiya Flood Canal projects near Burugupally village in Gangadhara mandal, Jagtial district.

Responding to farmers in Nandagiri village complaining about water shortages, Laxman Kumar highlighted his initiative to get 1 tmc feet of Godavari water released in his discussions with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy. He emphasised that redirecting water from the Kakatiya Flood Canal to Kaleshwaram Link-2 would ensure a continuous supply for irrigation, preventing disruptions to farming activities.

Additionally, Laxman Kumar addressed farmers' requests to fill Kummarikunta Lake and construct a bund to alleviate water shortages in the area. He assured that these issues would be discussed with the relevant authorities to secure adequate water supply for the upcoming agricultural season.
