Telangana HC Denies Interim Relief to MLA Malla Reddy in Land Dispute
Hyderabad: The vacation bench of the Telangana High Court refused to grant any interim relief to Medchal BRS MLA Ch Malla Reddy and his son-in-law Marri Rajashekar Reddy, Malkajgiri, in a dispute over two acres of land in Survey No. 82 and 83 Jeedimetla village of Quthbullapur mandal.
Challenging the state executive for conducting a survey in the land without informing him and the police for taking them into custody, while not taking action on the other party, Malla Reddy, his son Mahender Reddy and son-in-law Rajashekar Reddy had approached the High Court seeking relief from action by the revenue and home authorities.
A vacation court headed by Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti which heard the petition was not inclined to grant any relief. However, the court directed counsels for the revenue and home department to file counters by May 30.
Malla Reddy’s counsel said his clients had purchased the land in 2011 and had constructed the compound wall. He claimed that some persons, with the help of the ruling party, had tried to demolish the walls and tried to encroach on the land.
Counsel further submitted that the Quthbullapur tahsildar, without issuing notice, had entered the property to conduct a survey on May 18 accompanied by the Petbasheerbad police. When Malla Reddy and others had went to question the authorities, the police had taken them into custody. No action was taken on Srinivas Reddy, a businessman, accompanied with anti-social elements, who demolished tin sheds in the property, he said.
