Telangana HC tells police to follow procedures against ex-digital media chief

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court was not inclined to give any immediate interim relief to Kontham Dileep Reddy, former TS digital media wing head, in the case registered against him on charges of circulating false logos and abbreviations of TSRTC. The court was also not inclined to stay the criminal proceedings in the said case. However, the court directed the police to follow the due procedures of law in the investigation and directed the petitioner Dileep to cooperate with the investigation.

Meanwhile, the High Court also issued notices to Achuri Sridhar, chief traffic manager (M and C) of RTC, to explain why the court should not admit the criminal petition filed by Dileep Reddy, seeking to quash the FIR against him in the said case.

Justice K. Sujana was dealing with a petition filed by Dileep Reddy seeking to quash the FIR registered against him by Chikkadpally police on allegations of circulating false logos of TSRTC. He also sought a stay of all the criminal proceedings.

The judge issued notices to Sridhar asking him to respond by July 11. Meanwhile, the court directed the police to follow the due procedure, as the punishment prescribed for the alleged offences is less than seven years. Dileep Reddy has to appear before the investigation officer and submit the evidence required for investigation.
