Telangana HC to hear plea on Amaravati theatre on June 10

Hyderabad: A two-judge panel of the Telangana High Court will hear on June 10, the claim of the government for land known as Amravati theatre at Lakdikapul. The government is up in appeal against an order made by a single judge declaring that when the original declarant admitted that he was not in possession of the property in question, it could not have treated the same as “excess land” under the Land Ceiling Act. Earlier, the single judge allowed a writ petition filed by G. Vishal Yadav challenging the action of the government in trying to take forcible possession of land assuming it to be vacant land even though the Amravati theatre is being run in the said premises from 1970s.
