Telangana Teachers’ Body Opposes ‘Forced Undertakings’ for CRTs

TGUTF condemns forced agreements for contract teachers in Telangana’s tribal welfare schools, demands fair wages and job regularisation

Hyderabad: The Telangana State United Teachers' Federation (TGUTF) has demanded an end to the alleged forced signing of undertaking agreements by contract resident reachers (CRTs) working in the tribal welfare department, that they could be dismissed if they failed to achieve 100 per cent results in the Class 10 Board exams.

The opposition was asserted by federation president Chava Ravi and general secretary A. Venkat, according to a statement.

They stated that mentally harassing headmasters, teachers, and CRTs before the board exams would not yield positive results. Instead, officials should create a conducive work environment for teachers.

"For 22 years, CRTs in the tribal welfare department have been working with minimal wages and have not been granted minimum salaries. Despite promises to regularise their services, no action has been taken,” Chava Ravi said.

“These experienced CRTs have consistently delivered excellent academic outcomes and played a crucial role in securing 100 per cent results. However, instead of recognising their contributions, department officials are issuing orders that subject them to undue mental stress," said Ravi, according to the statement.
