Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner H.M. Dhyanchandra directed the municipal corporation officials to expedite the construction of drain canals along the Krishna River retaining wall.
It should be mentioned that the civic chief had instructed the municipal corporation officials to construct a side drain canal after locals complained about rainwater and domestic sewage stagnation along the Krishna River retaining wall.
The civic body chief further visited the Krishna River Front Park, developed near Kanaka Durga Varadhi, and directed the officials to complete the fencing around the River Front Park and make it available to citizens.
Later, Dhyanchandra visited the sewage treatment plant (STP) at Ramalingeswara Nagar, inspected the water treatment process, and asked officials to complete the pending upgrade works and further improve sewage water management.
VMC additional commissioner (Projects) K.V. Satyavathi, chief engineer M. Prabhakar Rao, executive engineers Venkateswara Reddy, G. Samrajyam, and others were present.
