Warangal will be transformed into a heritage city: CM Revanth Reddy

Warangal: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was furious at officials for increasing the estimated cost of the construction works of the multistoried super specialty hospital. He wondered how they could increase the cost from Rs 1,100 crore that was approved to Rs 1,726 crore on mere oral orders.

Forensic audit must be conducted on the construction cost of the hospital immediately and they must complete the construction works on a war-footing and be within the deadline, he said during his visit to Warangal district on Saturday.

He first inspected the Kakatiya mega textile park at Geesukonda mandal and planted a sapling after inaugurating the logo of Van-Mahotsav. He then inaugurated the Indira mahila shakti canteen in the collectorate premises and conducted a review meeting on the comprehensive development of Warangal district.

Speaking at the meeting, he directed officials of the concerned departments to take steps for developing Warangal into a heritage city like Hyderabad. Acquire lands required for construction of inner and outer ring roads and prepare proposals regarding funds, he said while telling them that the ORR should be constructed in such a way that it connects national highways along with a connectivity road to the mega textile park.

He sought proposals for laying an underground drainage system under the smart city project along with the drinking water pipelines while preventing encroachment of nalas and a permanent solution for the dumping yard in Warangal.

The Congress government is committed to transforming Warangal into a health and eco-tourism hub for which it will extend all kinds of help. An airport is on the anvil in Warangal, he said.
It is the duty of officials and elected public representatives to retain the faith and trust of the people. He said that another review meeting will be in the next 45 days.

Later, Reddy inaugurated the Medi-Cover hospital, where he said that when education, health and electricity are available the prospects of any city to shape into a metro or mega city are bright.
The government will establish a medical tourism hub on 1,000 acres of land at Shamshabad, he said.

Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Damodar C. Rajanarasimha, Konda Surekha and Dr D. Anasuya Seethakka, MP Balram Naik, CM’s adviser V. Narendar Reddy, MLAs N. Rajendar Reddy, K.R. Nagaraju, K. Srihari and R. Prakash Reddy were present.
