Nizamabad: A youth on Friday staged protests in front of Nizamabad municipal corporation (NMC) office here against the delay in sanitation works in 40th division.
Ragi Anil sat on the main road in front of the municipal office and demanded immediate work in their division. Anil said drainages in their colonies were filled up with silt and rain water is stagnating in residential colonies.
“I informed corporator Shiva Charan and municipal sanitary staff about the problem, but they did not respond,” he said. In view of the rainy season, residents of 40th municipal division are facing immense difficulties, he said. Ragi Anil urged municipal commissioner M. Makarand, to initiate action against the municipal staff for neglecting the sanitation works.
Passersby were surprised to see the youth sitting on the road on a civic issue. People gathered there and inquired about the protest. They also appreciated Anil for taking up an initiative for the problem of their locality.
