Renuka Swami murder case: Chargesheet filed against Darshan, other accused
All the 17 accused persons are in judicial custody and the actor has been moved from Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bengaluru city to Ballari Central Prison, about 300-km, after the actor was caught on camera with a mug, cigarette and chatting with his friends including a rowdy sheeter Wilson Garden Naga in the garden of Parappana Agrahara Prison.
It may be recalled here actor Darshan was arrested by Kamakshipalya police of Bengaluru city in connection with the alleged murder of Renuka Swami, a resident of Chitradurga district in Karnataka on June 8 this year.
At the orders of Darshan, his associates ferried Renukaswami from Chitradurga to a location in Bengaluru city where it is alleged the actor along with associates including his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda reportedly tortured and murdered him.
The alleged murder is said to have taken place over Renuka Swami sending lewd pictures to actor’s girlfriend Pavithra Gowda which enraged the actor. The body of Renukaswami was traced amongst garbage under Kamakshipalya police.
Commissioner of Police Bengaluru city B. Dayanand told reporters “It is a very huge charge sheet” and termed the charge sheet as “water tight.” On the charge sheet, he said, “It is 7 volumes with 10 files. Three eyewitness accounts and as many as 231 witnesses in all. Among the witnesses, 27 witnesses have recorded their statements before the Magistrate while others recorded their statements before the police officers.”
The Police Commissioner said the police have got all reports from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Bengaluru while they are yet to receive full reports from Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Hyderabad which include technical witnesses such as electronic devices.
“As and when we obtain reports from CFSL, Hyderabad, the same will be submitted to the Court,” stated the Police Commissioner.
