SC seeks detailed report on Jagan's disproportionate assets cases

The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to submit comprehensive details of the disproportionate assets cases against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to submit comprehensive details of the disproportionate assets cases against YSRCP president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The agencies have been instructed to provide the details and file an affidavit within two weeks.
The apex court also ordered the submission of discharge petitions pending in lower courts and details of cases pending before the Telangana High Court. The court also said that the information should be presented in separate charts by the CBI and ED.
The directive followed a petition filed by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju, who alleged delays in the trial of Jagan’s cases and requested the trial be transferred to another state.
A bench led by Justice Abhay S. Oka noted that the Telangana High Court had previously ordered a day-to-day trial. However, the bench questioned the prolonged delays, which lawyers attributed to discharge petitions, adjournments, and postponements by the courts.
The court stated that further orders would be issued after reviewing the pending case details. It also directed the submission of relevant trial court records, Telangana High Court orders, and other pending case information. The next hearing is scheduled for December 13.
