ACB Arrests Ex-minister’s Son Jogi Rajeev in Agri Gold Land Scam Case

Vijayawada: In an early morning swoop on Tuesday, sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested former minister and YSRC leader Jogi Ramesh's son Jogi Rajeev, along with Ambapuram mandal revenue surveyor Ajmeer Ramesh, in connection with the Agri Gold land scam in Ambapuram area of Vijayawada.

A 15-member ACB team arrived at Jogi Ramesh's residence in Ibrahimpatnam around 5 a.m. on Tuesday. The team began their searches by examining land documents and other records related to the Agri Gold lands in the Ambapuram area. Following the searches, ACB sleuths took Jogi Rajeev into custody and shifted him to the ACB office in Gollapudi, where they questioned him for nearly seven hours.

According to a statement issued by the office of the Vijayawada Anti-Corruption Bureau, the central investigation unit (CIU) of ACB booked a case under section 120(b) and 420 of the IPC, sections 7 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, and section 4 of the AP Land Grabbing Act after obtaining prior permission under section 17(A) of the PC Act.

The ACB, in its probe, found that Jogi Rajeev and his uncle Jogi Venkateswara Rao purchased a 2,160-square-yard plot in revenue survey number 88 in Ambapuram village.

Jogi Rajeev and Venkateswara Rao, with the help of mandal surveyor A. Ramesh and Ambapuram village surveyor K. Dedeepya, prepared a survey report stating that the purchased land is in survey number 87. They then registered this incorrect information at the Nunna sub-registrar’s office through a self-correction deed.

However, questioning of witnesses revealed that surveyors had issued survey certificates fraudulently without conducting any survey at the field level.

The ACB statement noted that Jogi Rajeev and Venkateswara Rao subsequently sold the land to Pagidipati Subba Reddy, Somula Venkateswara Reddy, and their family members.

Investigating officials said subsequent to their arrest, Jogi Rajeev and surveyor Ramesh have been produced before the ACB magistrate in Vijayawada.
