Alliance Government Urged to Achieve SCS Goal of AP
Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh Pratiyeka Hoda and Vibhajana Hameela Sadhana Samiti has urged the TD-led government to press the Centre for grant of Special Category Status (SCS) for the state.
A round table meeting of the samiti was chaired here on Sunday by its president Chalasani Srinivasa Rao. Leaders of the CPI, CPIM, Congress, Jai Bharat National Party etc attended the meeting.
CPI secretary K Ramakrishna said the BJP-led NDA government has been doing injustice to the state for the past ten years. He urged chief minister Chandrababu Naidu to take an all-party delegation to New Delhi in this respect. “This is also the time to achieve the goals of the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone, Ramayapatnam Port and Kadapa Steel Plant, he averred.
The AP Congress Party working president Sunkara Padmasree urged chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy to unitedly fight for the Special Category Status for AP.
Chalasani Srinivasa Rao said the state government should again send the earlier assembly resolutions regarding the SCS to the central government. CPM state secretary Srinivasa Rao, Jai Bharath Party chief Lakshmi Narayana, NFIW state general secretary Durga Bhavani, CITU leader Uma Maheswara Rao, AITUC state President Rabindranath, and others were present.
