100-day AP action plan to complete 1.28 lakh houses in three months
VIJAYAWADA: Housing minister K. Parthasarathy has said 1.28 lakh houses would be completed in the next three months under the 100-day action plan of the 3-party alliance government in AP.
The minister reviewed the state housing department affairs at a meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, which was attended by the project directors, SEs and EEs of all the districts.
Later, speaking to the media, he said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to complete 1.28 lakh houses in the coming three months and Rs 2,520 crore will be spent on this.
Parthasarathy said, “It has been decided to complete the 8.02 lakh houses that are currently under construction in the state, by the end of March next. Similarly, it has been decided to do conversion of 6.08 lakh houses that are under construction.
He said steps will be taken to utilize the fly ash from thermal power stations in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Nellore and Rayalaseema areas for development of layouts, where the house constructions will be done.
Similarly, the minister said the problems related to the houses under construction under Option -3 will be discussed with the chief minister and appropriate steps will be taken.
The minister said orders have been issued to the authorities to complete the reconciliation process by the end of this month, regarding the construction of houses. The progress of house constructions will be reviewed with the authorities once every month.
He said the government was committed to realize the dream of the poor people across the state. “Since the government is determined to build houses for all the deserved beneficiaries, officials at the field level must work with sincerity to complete the constructions at the earliest.”
Earlier, the minister reviewed the progress of housing construction in the districts under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) scheme, which started in 2015. Officials were directed to visit the areas and find out the problems faced by the beneficiaries. They must pay special attention to the funds received from the central government for providing infrastructure facilities in these colonies.
